All, we just had a plenary speaker drop out for the 2025 Annual Meeting for the Tuesday morning plenary. Given the discussions we have all been having around the impacts of the potential cuts to research funding, the program committee would like to ask if CAN could take over that plenary for a discussion of how cores can move forward in the current funding environment, and how we can demonstrate our value to our institutions. The room is currently set up with tables, which would lend itself to a roundtable discussion. We could potentially gather additional input from that discussion to inform the recommendations we planned to put out. We'd need some of us to guide the discussion, make sure the discussion stays forward thinking and doesn't devolve into complaining, and collate responses and ideas. Is anyone interested in taking this on? I'm happy to pitch in on organizing, with a few partners.
