Benefits of the NIH Shared Instrumentation Grant program

Fellow ABRF members. I have agreed to help the NIH leadership of the Shared Instrumentation Grant programs (SIG, HEI) to create promotional materials that will highlight the benefits of SIG awards. Because instruments funded by the SIG programs are often operated in core facilities, ABRF scientists work with the highly successful research programs that they support. I would like to identify a few examples of high profile investigators whose NIH research programs have benefited directly from the use of technology provided by SIG instruments operated by your core labs. Please provide the S10 grant award number, the name of the PI, and a brief description of how that instrument advanced NIH funded research. You may do so in this forum or directly by email to me.  Thanks in advance for your help. I also welcome any advice you might offer on how we can help the NIH ORIP to higlight the value of this important program. Who are your "star" researchers? - Mark Lively
