    Hello All,

We were fed up with the clunkiness of all the inventory systems that we had tried, so we worked with our IT team to build our own inventory system in REDCap.  My question is, is this something a lot of biobanks do?  I'm trying to decide if it would it be an interesting story to tell at ABRF? (Probably not ISBER because I didn't budget for Australia....)

I don't know how common custom systems are but it would probably be of general interest. ISBER does have a virtual participation option for the coming event in Australia but I don't know if they have virtual poster-sessions or roundtables. We do have a dedicated LIMS that we love working with that was purchased by campus rather than something custom. We use OnCore Biospecimen Management System (BSM). Overall, it is user friendly and works well. We only use Redcap for certain limited functions so I'm curious how your IT collaborators were able to make it work for you.

    Good luck!
