    Does anyone have formal guidance or expectations for core facilities around data workflows, management, or stewardship? If so, can you share what you have? We are trying to create a set of expectations and standards for our cores on data handling and stewardship, and don't want to reinvent the wheel if possible.

    Hi Natasha,

    Are you referring to research data management or the management of facility operational data? Or both?

    We're currently looking at the latter through our iLab core implementations, focusing on things like data structures, workflows and best practice to ensure facilities collect useful and interoperable data that supports both local operations and institutional decision-making.

    We don't have formal guidance yet, but that's where we'd like to get to. I'd be keen to hear from any institutions that have developed facility data management or stewardship standards for iLab and are willing to share them.

      Sorry I should have been more clear. I was referring to research data generated by the core facilities.

    UMich has a lot of stewardship info on our website: michmed.org/agc-data

    There's university-wide info at https://research.umich.edu/research-data-stewardship/ and https://spg.umich.edu/policy/303.06 (and those have link-outs to other policies and guidelines)

    Most is specific to UMich, but I think it can be applied more broadly.
