I am new to the site, so I may have missed something, but I did not see any in-depth recent discussions on this topic.

Has anyone found an excellent ELN and/or LIMS platform that they would strongly recommend?

I am especially interested in practical experiences from academic labs, shared resource labs, or core facilities - what worked well, what did not, and whether you would choose the same system again.

Brendan, We are in the process of switching from home grown LIMS to Sapio. The process just started so I cannot comment about it in detail. We looked at bunch of systems and decided to go with Sapio. In 6 months, we should be able to say if it was a bad decision or not. :)

At the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, we implemented LabArchives ELN in 2018. I was heavily involved in the implementation process, roll out, and the administration since then. All through the process, LabArchives have been an excellent partner, and their product is being well used here. It's not an LMS but a lab notebook. They have been acquired a few times by this and that company. I think they are currently owned by Dotmatics, which in turn owned by Siemens. They even received an NIH contract for their internal use. Thank you, this is very helpful. I've already been in contact with LabArchives/Dotmatics, and they seem very good. LabArchives has actually been my top choice so far, so it is useful to hear that it has worked well at Mount Sinai.

The main thing I was hoping to understand is whether you encountered any hiccups during implementation, rollout, administration, or user adoption. Were there any limitations, problems, or things you would do differently if you were setting it up again?
