Our flow core recently acquired the BD FACSDiscover S8 and are looking to adjust our services, fee structure, and data management protocols. I would love to hear from other cores with the S8 about how they are incorporating it into their labs.
I'm particularly interested in the following questions. Do clients (often students in my experience) or dedicated operators run the instrument? Is the pricing to use the S8 significantly different from other instruments and is there different pricing depending on whether users want images stored? Finally, with the potential for such large data files, how are your cores storing, sending, and otherwise managing the data.
