NIH All of Us Officially Launches CDRv9

Excited to share: NIH All of Us is now the world's largest integrated genomic and electronic health record dataset.

• 747,000+ participants
• 535,000+ whole genome sequences
• 481,000+ linked electronic health records
• Long-read whole genome sequence data from 14,500 + participants
• And, for the first time, proteomics (~10,000) and RNAseq data (~9,000)

This is most expansive data release in the program's history that includes participants from all 50 states, from rural communities and urban centers, from populations that have rarely been included in research in the past.

NLM Center for Clinical Observational Investigations (CCOI) Workshops focused on the RxNorm medication data standards and RxNav tool

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) invites you to join a Center for Clinical Observational Investigations (CCOI) workshop series. The series will focus on the RxNav tools, which support use of the RxNorm health data standard to enable medication data standardization. The workshop will provide an introduction to the RxNorm standard and RxNav tools, and demonstrate the use of RxNav tools. The workshop series will be held over two virtual sessions on August 13 and 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm ET. Please find the registration details below. ImmPort End-to-End: A Hands-On Workshop on AI-Powered Data Access, Discovery, and Analysis

August 18, 2026, 9:00 – 1:00 PM Pacific (US & Canada)

In one interactive session, we'll walk through the full ImmPort lifecycle - submitting a study, discovering and pulling data with the Cohort Discovery Tool and REST API (Swagger), connecting ImmPort to AI through MCP (Model Context Protocol), and running a guided analysis on an AI-Ready dataset. Whether you submit data, analyze it, or are just curious about AI-driven access, you'll leave ready to bring ImmPort into your workflow.

NIH Seeking Input on Effective Approaches for Measuring and Rewarding Scientific Impact

Comments must be received no later than August 19, 2026

NIH is seeking feedback from stakeholders to assist in defining specific, measurable indicators and incentives that reflect the collaborative, rigorous, and mission-driven nature of modern biomedical science.

NIH is particularly interested in comments that include specific examples of measurable indicators, implementation approaches, potential benefits or unintended consequences, and considerations for feasibility across career stages, disciplines, and institution types.

Comments must be received no later than August 19, 2026, and must be submitted through the online comment portal found here.

HEAL Webinar - From Data Dictionaries to Repository Submission: HEAL Office Hours for Investigators

August 20, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 PM ET

Join the HEAL Data Ecosystem Office Hours on August 20, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 PM ET for an interactive session focused on creating data dictionaries and preparing data submissions. This office hours session will help attendees better understand requirements to complete HEAL PI Checklist tasks. Participants will also view newly developed data dictionary and data submission guidance documents and will gain clarity on variable-level metadata (VLMD) expectations, how VLMD supports FAIR data, and the steps in preparing data for deposition.

The session will include focused discussion breakout rooms: Breakout Room 1 will address data dictionaries and data submissions, and Breakout Room 2 will focus on HEAL Data Platform registration and analytic workspace use. By the end of the session, participants will know where to get help, how to begin generating or enhancing VLMD, and what to expect when submitting data to their selected repository. Please note, this session will not be recorded.

The NIH Common Fund wants to hear your ideas for new programs!! Please respond to the Common Fund Request for Information (RFI) with your thoughts about new NIH-wide challenges and opportunities in biomedical and behavioral research that could be proposed for new Common Fund ideas.

We would like community input on:

• Critical challenges or exciting emerging opportunities in biomedical/behavioral research
• Resources, tools, or knowledge that are needed to address the important challenge or opportunity
• Scientific advancements or other factors that make addressing the important challenge or opportunity particularly timely
• Critical challenges that small labs or research groups face with respect to funding, contracting, or navigating the regulatory landscape

Ideas may inform Common Fund activities such as scientific workshops, pilot initiatives, and/or future Common Fund programs.

The Common Fund supports bold scientific programs that catalyze discovery across all biomedical and behavioral research. These programs bring together investigators and multiple NIH Institutes, Centers, and Offices to collaborate on innovative research. Common Fund programs are expected to address high-priority challenges for the NIH as a whole and make a broad impact on the scientific community.

2026 Model Context Protocol Server and AI Agent Hackathon

Help the government accelerate AI adoption and provide better services!

Who: You - all government employees are eligible to participate! Hosted by GSA; industry partners include Databricks, OpenAI, and IBM.

What: The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems. As AI use expands from conversational tools to autonomous agents, its practical value can be greatly improved through, governed access to federal data assets and service delivery capabilities. We're looking for your help building MCP servers for your agency's open data assets and service delivery use cases. Whether you're working with datasets the public needs to discover, services citizens interact with, or APIs that power critical decisions, this is your opportunity to make that information AI-ready.

Funding Opportunity: HEAL Initiative INTERACT Data Coordination and Integration Center (DCIC)

The DCIC will curate, harmonize, and integrate multimodal data (clinical, imaging, -omics, biomechanical, psychosocial, digital, etc.) from the INTERACT chronic low back pain cohorts and related HEAL musculoskeletal (MSK) pain studies. It will work closely with INTERACT investigators, the HEAL Data Ecosystem, and the HEAL Platform to ensure high-quality, interoperable data that can be shared, integrated, and reused to advance precision diagnostics and treatments for chronic low back and MSK pain. The DCIC will build on the earlier BACPAC program and support both completion of remaining BACPAC-related data activities and ongoing INTERACT cohort work. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing, curating, and harmonizing INTERACT data for sharing within the HEAL Data Ecosystem, including implementation of common data elements and relevant standards.
• Supporting INTERACT UC2 awardees with data coordination, quality control, metadata, and HEAL data-sharing requirement and facilitate secondary analysis of datasets.
• Integrating multimodal data across INTERACT and other HEAL MSK projects to enable cross-study analyses, treatment algorithms, and data-driven models.
• Developing user-friendly tools and workflows to help investigators query, integrate, and analyze consortium data.

NIH Common Fund PRIMED-AI Funding Opportunities

The NIH Common Fund is pleased to announce five available funding opportunities for its new Precision Medicine with AI: Integrating Imaging with Multimodal (PRIMED-AI) program.

The PRIMED-AI program seeks to develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective AI-based tools that integrate clinical imaging with other health data types to enhance personalized medicine for patients with chronic and other health conditions. PRIMED-AI will be a uniquely synergistic, catalytic, cross‐cutting way of transforming the delivery of precision medicine through the emerging medical AI landscape.

NCI Office of Data Sharing (ODS) Impact Prize Challenge

Submission window: August 3 – October 5, 2026

Introducing the NCI Office of Data Sharing (ODS) Impact Prize, a $200,000 challenge recognizing ideas and exemplars that advance the sharing and reuse of cancer research outputs!

We're looking for submissions across three tracks:

• Track 1 (Ideas): High-impact opportunities, gaps, or approaches to improve how cancer research outputs are shared and reused
• Track 2 (Exemplars): Creative, successful strategies already implemented with evidence of impact
• Track 3 (Jamboree): Meritorious project abstracts submitted to the 2026 NCI Data Jamboree

16 prizes are available, including a $20,000 Grand Prize, with awards ranging from $10,000–$15,000 across each track. We are looking for input from all members of the cancer research community, including faculty, librarians, patient advocates, citizen scientists, (there's no career-stage requirement) but we strongly encourage submissions from early career/trainees and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and/or less-resourced institutions.
