Hi folks
Great talk, I just had a chance to watch the recording.
I wanted to share that our core is pretty soon going to be working on something quite similar. We are a preclinical (animal) imaging core so our needs are slightly different (mainly, things change a lot and forms/fields need to be updated pretty often) but otherwise I love the idea of using the iLab API and power apps or something similar so we don't have so much redundancy and complexity when trying to schedule out our requests.
So, I have a colleague who is in school right now to do software engineering. She tells me that, especially these days with AI and whatnot, software engineering/programming students really need as much work experience as possible in this job market. In her program they prioritize trying to find folks internships as much as possible. Earlier this year (Like, right before Jan 20th) we had some funds approved for a paid internship to help me revamp our scheduling/request management system, but our institutional hiring freeze that soon later ensued made that not possible to pursue.
I just now finally got things in place to have an internship go ahead (unfortunately unpaid, but it is what it is) with a local community college where the students will be getting academic credit for the work. So, we will have a team of interns working to help me revamp our scheduling/iLab request system. Perhaps down the road, it would be great if they can share what they've learned/etc with this forum.
I just wanted to give this FYI since I know others are thinking about this as well. It may also be worth, if you feel you do not have the bandwidth to take on a project like this, to explore similar arrangements with perhaps a local community college or something in your area.

Subject: iLab and power apps talk TODAY 4PM EST
I wanted to send a quick update to all those that are signed up for the Operations software presentation today.
We had to do a slight adjustment the topic but you won't want to miss it!
Aaron Larson from Seattle Childrens is going to show us how he has connected his iLab forms data to SharePoint and PowerApps. He has hacked the API and figured out how to create useful integrations. Since this is last minute if you aren't able to attend we will be recording the session and adding it to our Lab Operations Management Software community for reference later.
As for topic updates for the future (as a reminder for you and me):
Jan 6th:Forms Part II - Roxann Ashworth will present on her forms and how her questions automate invoicing and supporting their downstream needs for efficiency. Aaron Larson will present his form setups to show his conditional formatting and integrations with PowerApps.
Feb 3rd: Comparing NU Core/iLab/Stratacore - UNC case study
UNC will be presenting their recent comparative analysis on the overall cost for each of the three options. They will also present their rankings and overall thoughts comparing the three options.
Mar 2nd: Any thoughts on topics to discuss?
