
ABRF selects Joseph Dragavon, University of Colorado Boulder
as President for 2026-2027
October 20, 2025 (Lexington, KY) – The Executive Board of the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) has selected Joe Dragavon, Director of the Advanced Light Microscopy Core within the BioFrontiers Institute and Director of Core Facilities and Shared Instrumentation at the University of Colorado Boulder as its next President. His term will begin at the conclusion of the ABRF 2026 Annual Meeting, March 28-31 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Joe has made valuable contributions to a wide range of ABRF activities throughout his 10 years as an ABRF member, including the Light Microscopy Research Group (LMRG), Education Committee, the Journal of Biomolecular Techniques (JBT) editorial board, the Institutional Members Advisory Council, along with leading the 2024 Annual Meeting Committee and serving on the Executive Board for the last year.
ABRF President Kym Delventhal highlighted that:

His personal commitment and capacity to engage other members to contribute to ABRF will enable us to navigate this landscape and continue to deliver value for all members."

I want to thank the current Executive Board and our Members for providing me with this opportunity to serve our global association."
Two other Executive Board positions will be determined through the 2025 Executive Board election to be completed by the end of the year.
