In my new role at WPI, we host a rather robust Makerspace.   This is new to me and I'd like to know what other Institutions have similar facilities and how they are managed (specifically - who funds the facility for regular operations or any new instrument purchases)?   Thank you!

We are considering starting a makerspace, so I would love to talk to you about how yours works.  Our current plan is to pull in some redundant equipment from the departments that want to create the space and to work out responsibility for funding equipment purchase among those departments.  But we are very much in the rough planning stages right now, so insights would be appreciated.
