What is the state of the field in measuring endocrine disruptors by mass spec? In a quick look through the literature, EDC's seems like a very broad category that would need a variety of analytical approaches depending on the specific targets and the biological matrix in question. Is there such a thing as a mass spectrometry expert in this particular field? I have a PI asking for a "CI or a consultant to support the mass spectrometry analyses for endocrine disruption chemicals" who is looking beyond our biomarker core because they do not have direct experience with EDCs. Is it realistic to look for someone with in depth experience in this particular application of MS? Are there developed methods that can be transferred between labs, or is each lab developing and validating their own approach?
