  • 1.  Need help on a salary question

    Hi Everyone,

    We are struggling to hire someone in our Electron Microscopy Core. Our compensation teams are setting the salaries at a level that does not allow us to successfully recruit. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some data on salaries for people in EM cores that have similar experience. If you are willing to confidentially share some info with me at chitty@ohsu.edu, it might make a difference in our recruitment efforts. Below is a little bit of information from our core director about the candidate:

    Current Degree: PhD,  a postdoc since 2021

    Current years experience: 5+ in the EM field. Person was a Visiting Scholar at the National Center for Microscopy and Imaging Research where trained on a specific EM technique. Person has knowledge on samples preparation for 3D EM but not experience operating these 3 microscopes in the core. Also has experience on EM image analysis. Has skills in most of the samples preparation procedures we have in the core.

    I appreciate any info you are willing/able to provide.

    Hello Andy,

     

    I'm sure you may seen the ABRF Compensation Survey report, which includes information on positions in Imaging, but not specifically Electron Microscopy.
