    ABRF Members,

ABRF is now a member of ORCID, a nonprofit organization that provides researchers with a persistent digital identifier that uniquely distinguishes them and connects them to their scientific contributions, professional service, and memberships. An ORCID is free to obtain, uniquely identifying you throughout your career, increases the visibility of your work, and is increasingly used by institutions, journals, and funding agencies to support evaluation, reporting, and research workflows.

ABRF is currently conducting a pilot program in which the organization has verified the membership and volunteer service of select members and, with their permission, added this information directly to their ORCID records.

Over the coming months, ABRF will expand this capability to all members. The rollout will begin in conjunction with Chapter Meetings and will eventually be available organization wide. To prepare, the Communications Committee encourages you to:

    1.    Watch for announcements from your chapter inviting you to verify and submit details about your ABRF membership and volunteer service.

    2.    Log in to your ABRF Member Profile and add your ORCID. We have made the process simple and convenient.

If you do not already have an ORCID, visit www.orcid.org to register for one at no cost, then add it to your ABRF Member Profile to take advantage of this new benefit.

Please join us for a Zoom session when a member of the US-ORCID team will answer your questions about ORCID and its benefits to ABRF members.
