  • 1.  Question about presenters for VCU

    Posted 03-26-2025 13:37

    Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is a stupid question but let me ask it before i respond to the faculty member.

For the plenary on Drug discovery i reached out to our CRISPR core director to present. It works out because this project also includes Laura who is presenting already so no issue there.

But the PI now is interested in coming to support this panel conversation and is asking for information on who to talk to for his registration and hotel informaiton. i think he would be great to include but i understand we need to be cognizant of funds. Is he eligible for hotel/registration coverage to present on this panel?

As a follow up for those that have already agreed to present how does this process work so i can let them know as well?

    Meghan

The information on registration and reimbursement will be in the speaker letter. I believe Rena was planning to send those out after ABRF.

WRT the PI, how many other people are we paying for in that session?

    Meghan,

If you think he would make a good addition to the panel, so he will be a speaker, his hotel (except incidentals), travel, and registration will be paid for MAD SSCi.   If you add him to the tabs of the session excel sheet for now.   In a bit Rena will be sending out a letter to all speakers telling them how to register for the meeting and hotel.  There is a speaker selection in the registration.  For the hotel, he will register through the MAD SSCi website link and may have to reserve it with a credit card.  I will give the hotel a list of speakers and OC members hotel rooms right before the meeting so they will know not to charge the person but send one invoice to me for payment.

I hope this answers your questions as well as his.  If not let me know.

    Kathy
