  • 1.  recognising contributions to research success

I just got an email for "Hidden REF Competition 2024".  I almost deleted it, but read further and found that this describes my publication record.  I have a few publications where I merely provided services which the researchers did not know how to do themselves and I'm not sure I really deserve authorship.  But these are dwarfed by the publications that don't have my name on them where I made significant contributions in experimental design, image collection, analysis, &/or interpretation. And there are plenty that don't even acknowledge the core I worked for, so forget about me or my colleagues who would also deserve mention.  I'm sure most (if not all) ABRF members have had similar experiences with public credit.  Thus, I'm posting it here in case you missed it.  I'm not really interested in competing for best or worst case(s) of failed recognition, but this may be a good place to tell stories so that there is a record.

This is an interesting concept. It does seem to be a UK specific competition, though.
