  • 1.  Universal Consent?

    Posted 01-04-2023 10:50
    Good Morning All,

I was curious if everyone was using a dedicated consent for their biobanks, or if anyone had pursued a "universal" consent, where participants would be consenting to general biobanking at either their consent to treat, or consent for procedure time points. For those that have, or have looked into universal consent, could you please DM me with your thoughts and experience?

    Thank you!
    Ryan

    Ryan,

Sent your inquiry to the head of our Pathology Core and here is his response.

We do not have universal consent at MSK (at least not yet).
We do have general research consent forms that patients often are asked to consent to. We can use the general research consent form to obtain samples for the biobank.
I hope this help – also happy to discuss more with Ryan directly if that would be helpful.

    Best,
    Joachim

He is happy to chat with you if you like, just let me know and I'll connect you via email.
