With less than two months remaining before the 2023 ABRF Annual Meeting, the  Program Committee is pleased to share new information on the sessions planned for this year, including:

    Tuesday, May 9, 2023
    2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Non-Biological Core Facilities and Their Place within ABRF

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new session at the 2023 ABRF meeting that is meant to gauge interest in expanding the scope of ABRF beyond supporting the biological sciences. Shared facilities are ubiquitous in universities. Historically, the scope and attendance of ABRF has been associated with life science supported cores, but as science and technology have evolved, the need for cross-disciplinary core facilities has become increasingly important. Our colleagues in non-biological facilities share our administrative, personnel, equipment and funding issues. This session is an exciting opportunity to hear about those topics in Materials science, nano-fab and other non-biological shared facilities. Our invited speakers and panel of experts will share their insights and experiences in establishing and managing core facilities that support a broad range of research areas 'beyond the bio'. They will discuss the benefits of cross-disciplinary collaboration, the potential impact on research outcomes, and the resources required to make their Cores and the research programs they support successful. This session is a must-attend for anyone involved in cross-disciplinary Core facility management or interested in the future of materials research supporting infrastructure. Join us at ABRF to learn how to expand the scope of your Core facility and stay ahead of the curve in supporting cutting-edge research beyond just the bio. We hope this will serve as introduction to a future of non-biological members participation at ABRF.

Plan to join your colleagues for this important session.  Visit the meeting web site for more details.

We look forward to seeing you.
