Register by April 14 for this half-day, pre-meeting workshop at the 2023 ABRF Annual Meeting, presented by the ABRF Core Rigor and Reproducibility Committee (CCoRRe):

Compliance with NSF FAIR data and NIH data management plans will require both understanding of the spirit of the policy and infrastructure that allows it to be easily implemented. Shared Resource Facilities (SRF's) have been delivering data as part of their mission and, as such are well equipped to contribute ideas and solutions to their respective institutions. Institutional librarians have extensive experience cataloging and archiving data for future discoverability. Multiples organizations have created tailored tools to manage and archive data based on the technical and regulatory requirements associated with treatment of data by research area. While the process may seem daunting to those new to the field, much of the infrastructure already exists to comply with these new mandates.

The Committee on Core Rigor and Reproducibility (CCoRRe) has developed this workshop with the goal of helping SRF staff understand the roles cores play in enabling data sharing as well as some tools to make the sharing process efficient and effective. This workshop will provide crucial information on institutional best practices for data management, beginning with describing the role of institutional libraries in curating data along with infrastructure and tools available to researchers, cores, and administrative staff. Participants will learn how to access building blocks, how to select appropriate data archiving sites, and walk through the process using optical microscopy datasets as an example. Participants will have opportunity to articulate issues they face and ask experts how to efficiently implement data archiving strategies.
