Hi all - For those of you who send out user surveys across multiple core facilities (centralized programs), what questions have you found extremely useful to get feedback on? Or if you have suggestions from individual core surveys as well. Thanks for your input!

There was an excellent presentation at the 2025 ABRF meeting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DE7v4c-JHg

We are just about to launch a survey that is significantly similar to the one developed at Northwestern.  Historically we have done more facility specific surveys that had questions unique to the specific platforms and services. These are also useful, but this one is designed to be very brief and to cover all of the facilities in our portfolio with consistent, high-level questions that can apply to basically any facility.

    Hi Mary,

The RPPA Core lab at MD Anderson sent out a survey this past summer regarding our lab.  This was only for customers who used the service before, so those surveyed were already familiar with the platform.  Besides the usual questions (how often do you use the core, how do you rate the core service), we also asked (1) which type of proteomics service(s) you find most effective for your research needs, (2) if you reduced the number of samples submitted to the core, what are the main reasons for doing so, and (3) would you be more likely to submit to the core if other samples types (which were listed for them to choose) were processed.

I could provide more details for these questions if you are interested.

    Best,
    Doris

I always ask what external core facilities or services do you use and why do you use it.
