  • 1.  Engineer to move an Agilent 6224 ESI-TOF-MS

My lab needs to move to a temporary location and I'm arranging for service engineers to help with the mass spectrometers.  One of the instruments is an ESI-TOF-MS (Agilent 6224).  Does anyone have a recommendation for an independent engineer who might be interested in the job?  Agilent's cost is quite high, but, more importantly, they can't/won't commit to a date closer than "four to six weeks."  The original plan was to move the instrument up a floor, and for that the flight tube would need to be removed.  I found an alternative lab around the corner, so it would be possible to just wheel the whole instrument there without disassembly.  But, the combined bench and instrument are too tall to fit through any of the doors.  Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Go with Agilent. They will guarantee that the instrument will work after the move. No any other vendor can, even if they state so.

    Hi Susan,

In 2019 we had to move two flow cytometers across campus. We used a company called Scientific Equipment Services. They did a great job. Their information is below. I believe they are in the Austin area. One of our contacts there was Christopher Jaska, jaskachristopher@gmail.com. Hope this is helpful
