    ABRF Members,

See below for upcoming NSF Infrastructure funding opportunities Town Hall sessions this week:

    Dear Colleagues:

We would appreciate it if you could forward this information to those at your institutions that may be interested. The National Science Foundation (NSF) Mid-scale Research Infrastructure (Mid-scale RI) Activity is intended to provide an agile, Foundation-wide process to fund experimental research capabilities in the mid-scale range, between the Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program upper limit ($4 million) and Major Multi-user Facilities lower threshold (currently $100 million).

Recently, solicitation NSF 22-637 was published for the Mid-scale RI-1 program (total project cost of $4 million up to but not including $20 million), one of two Foundation-wide funding opportunities that span the mid-scale range. The deadline for preliminary proposals is January 5, 2023.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, and Thursday, November 17, 2022, NSF will host townhalls with information about the latest Mid-Scale RI-1 funding opportunity. Each session will begin at 1:00 p.m. EST and have two parts: 1) Session 1: a general Mid-scale RI-1 information session (1:00 p.m. -1:40 p.m. EST) with Q&A followed by, 2) Session 2: a Project Management and Directorate-specific breakouts (1:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. EST) where more technical questions will be addressed. Information on Day 1 will be repeated on Day 2 (there is no need to attend on both days).
