    Dear Colleague, 

    As you are likely aware, fiscal year 2025 funding for all federal agencies expired at midnight on September 30. Because Congress and the president failed to reach an agreement to keep the government funded, all federal agencies are now shut down. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and other science agencies cannot answer questions from current grantees, issue new grants or funding opportunities, review pending applications, hold study section meetings, or travel to scientific conferences. 

    FASEB needs your help to apply maximum pressure on Congress and the president to immediately pass a "continuing resolution" to re-open the government. Click on the pink button below my signature to email your Senators and Representatives and the president (using your personal computer/email) TODAY to urge them to end the shutdown. Forward this alert to your network once you are done sending your emails.
