    ABRF Members,

See below for a series of upcoming advocacy town halls presented by FASEB, along with resources to help you engage with your elected representatives to let them know how the proposed changes to research funding impact your work.

We hope you'll consider participating in one or more of these timely discussions.

    Thank you.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Your help needed to promote FASEB Advocacy Town Halls! Promotional toolkit included

[NOTE: This note is being sent to society Executive Officers, society volunteer leaders, the FASEB Board of Directors, FASEB Science Policy Committee, Publications Committee, Meetings Committee, and Howard Garrison Fellows

Dear FASEB Board Members, Member Society Volunteer Leaders, Howard Garrison Advocacy Fellows, and Staff,

As previously announced, FASEB launched a new virtual Advocacy Town Hall meeting series in early August to enhance the reach of our advocacy efforts. I am writing to request your help in promoting the meetings to members of your society. This is an especially crucial time to hear from our members and the broader research community beyond FASEB as Congress returns to Washington with less than a month to reach an agreement on keeping the government funded beyond September 30. The next Advocacy Town Hall meeting is on Tuesday, September 2 at 12:00 EST. John Martens from Federal Science Partners (FASEB's strategic legislative affairs consultants) will provide an overview of Congress' fall agenda and what to expect as we head into fall. I'd love to see a big turnout for this can't miss session.

These meetings, hosted by staff from the Office of Public Affairs, take place on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from noon to 1:00 pm ET. The meetings are open to anyone interested in staying engaged in or supporting FASEB's advocacy initiatives, speaking up, or simply listening in. Each meeting features updates from Capitol Hill, news on science policy, a Q&A session, and an Open Mic segment where participants can share their advocacy efforts, challenges, and accomplishments. A one-time registration process allows participation in the entire series as personal schedules allow.

Those registered for the town hall meetings will also receive a follow-up email message summarizing the main topics and discussion and providing a list of curated FASEB advocacy resources as well as other relevant information.

Realizing how busy everyone is these days, FASEB staff prepared a promotional tool kit to assist you helping us spread the word about the town hall meetings. Thank you so much for your support.

    Sincerely,
