    Hello Everyone,

I am looking to retrofit our lab spaces with some climate control units.  Our facility consists of 4 small lab spaces, ranging from 90 to 400 sq ft, located in the basement of an old building, with concrete walls, poor ventilation (no window, single entrances) and no climate control.  The HVAC system is pumping heat into our rooms and I have been informed by our facilities that we have no cooling capability.  It is not just uncomfortable to work in there but I am also concerned about the impact on equipment.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and have anyone suggestions for a small AC/climate control unit?  We are very limited on space.

    Thank you for any advice/information,
    Colleen

Hi Colleen - our campus has many old buildings and we often need to provide supplemental cooling in equipment rooms. This is typically done with split units somewhat similar to what you might find in an apartment where the blower is in the space but the motor/exhaust is external. Your engineering group should be able to assist with selecting an appropriate unit.
