Tuesday Morning Session Creating and Managing an Effective Animal Related Core Balfour Sartor (UNC), Raphael Malbrue (UVA) & Jennifer Koblinski (VCU)
This session will explore both the opportunities and challenges involved in establishing and managing an animal-related core facility. A panel, including a veterinarian and experienced core directors, will lead an in-depth discussion on best practices, common obstacles, and innovative strategies for success. Topics will include facility management, regulatory compliance, funding opportunities, and advancements in animal-related research. Attendees will gain valuable insights into optimizing core operations and fostering collaboration within the scientific community.
Tuesday afternoon Session Unique Challenges in Staffing an Animal Related Core - Compassion Fatigue Elisa De Stanchini, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Michelle Hente, Inovtiv
The primary focus of this session will be staffing. Compassion fatigue of staff will be discussed. Additionally the speakers will touch on hiring and training experienced staff. |

- An Opening Reception at the Hilton Richmond Hotel and Spa/Short Pump with Opening Keynote lecture by Dr. Vanessa Sheppard, Interim Founding Dean School of Population Health on Monday evening
- Plenary talks, scientific and vendor sessions followed by Wine and Cheese on Tuesday
- Core Administration topics will finish out the meeting on Wednesday
