A Quick Recap of this month's Executive Board Meeting

                                                    June 2023

    Marie Adams Hello ABRF Members,

On behalf of the ABRF Executive Board, I'm pleased to share this new update on the key results and decisions from the June 2023 Executive Board Meeting.

Following the memorable ABRF Annual Meeting, the Executive Board focused their discussion on these topics:

    ·         Re-invigorating the ABRF Strategic Plan.   The Board will continue to engage with ABRF Research Groups, Committees, and Chapters to discuss how they contribute to the ABRF Strategic Plan.  Rather than attempt to reset or revise the current plan, the Board will begin the update process prior to next year.

    ·         Executive Board Self-Assessment.  The Board reviewed the results of its recent Self-Assessment to determine any noteworthy findings.  The assessment showed that the Executive Board is highly engaged overall, with opportunities to connect with other ABRF leaders.

    ·         Succession Planning.  The Board recognized the need to improve the onboarding and orientation process for new EB members, and to be prepared for a future Executive Director transition.

    ·         Research Group/Committee Updates.  Among the monthly updates was a report on a new task force to plan future editions of the popular ABRF Business Skills Workshop, to be presented at ABRF meetings and host institutions. The task force will review the workshop content, design, and identify new instructors.

    ·         ABRF/CTLS Collaboration.  Following a productive discussion at the ABRF Annual Meeting, ABRF is preparing an MOU to outline how the two organizations can work together, including potential options for mutual membership.  If you are involved in, or interested in learning more about CTLS, let us know.

I hope that this brief summary is helpful to you.  Each of the Executive Board members are always available if you have any questions or suggestions to strengthen the ABRF Community.

Contact us with your suggestions, questions, or ideas.....

Your involvement and participation make ABRF a unique community by members, for members.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you.
