The microbiome metagenomics research group is seeking new members. The group foçuses on developing and evaluating all techniques from DNA RNA extract, microbial counting, NGS library prep, and sequencing with either short or long read platforms. Please contact Scott.Tighe@uvm.edu.

    Hi Scott,

Can you provide me some more information on the roles and responsibilities of members of this group? We have done some shotgun metagenome sequencing on Illumina sequencers and microbial genomes on PacBio. I'd be interested to learn more to see how we might be able to contribute.

    Best,

I will email you with details.  Some of the desirable qualities include being about to perform DNA and RNA extractions, library preps and sequencing. Culturing ability and general microscopy skills are also nice.

would you be interested in working with a community college partner on this? It would looking down the road, later this year, next year as part our consortium grant.
