  • 1.  NIH Workshop on Rigor & Reproducibility in Animal Research

    Posted 08-29-2022 13:32

    Dear colleague,

As one of the scientific leaders, you are cordially invited to participate in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) virtual workshop on Enhancing Rigor and Reproducibility in Animal Research by Managing Extrinsic Factors that will take place on September 23, 28, and 30, 2022. This workshop is organized by a committee consisting of representatives from eight NIH Institutes, Centers, and Offices and seven nationally recognized leaders in animal research. Its overarching goal is to discuss the impact of extrinsic environmental factors (e.g., environmental and housing) on rigor and reproducibility in animal studies, and how modern technologies on facility design, equipment, and instrumentation may enhance such outcome.

Hosted by the NIH Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP), the workshop is arranged in three webinar sessions, each focusing on extrinsic factors relevant to a set of commonly and widely used animal models (9/23 - Aquatic Animals; 9/28 - Rodents; and 9/30 - Large Animals)

Attending the Workshop is free but requires an online registration for each of the three sessions. Please visit the websitehttps://www.scgcorp.com/ExtrinsicFactorsWS/Default for program schedule, registration, and other information.

    Thank you,

The Organizing Committee, NIH/ORIP Extrinsic Factors Workshop

Note...I am not on that committee.  I am just forwarding the invitation I received.  If you work with animals, please also consider joining the Working with Animal Models community here, so we can start to gather ideas on how to meet the needs of cores that work with animals within the ABRF community.
