    Description:

Peer review is central to our scientific process, while yielding professional benefits to those providing their expertise.  Join us in a discussion of how the ABRF membership can increase the rigor and reproducibility of research by establishing a team of reviewers who are experts across the growing number of technologies and disciplines of science.  We will highlight what we gain professionally when we are reviewers, what our own journal, JBT, looks for from reviewers, and we will describe an initiative we have launched to work directly with other journals as ABRF Technical Reviewers.  This will be followed by an open discussion regarding the overarching question of the importance of being a reviewer and why it is important to get involved.

    Discussion Leaders:

Ron Orlando, Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Chemistry
Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, University of Georgia
    Editor, Journal of Biomolecular Techniques

Frances Weis-Garcia, Director, Bi-Institutional Antibody and Bioresource Core Facility, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Register today for this discussion on the benefits and opportunities to contribute to advancing rigor and reproducibility within Core facilities.
