Although the TECAN Uno Single Cell Dispenser unit sent for demonstration at the Keck MS & Proteomics Resource Lab at Yale U. dispensed 100 nL aliquots of LC-Grade water, it failed to dispense single HEK293 cells despite troubleshooting attempts by the application specialist. Various cell size parameters and cell number dilutions were tested but none dispensed single cells. If you have experience with this unit please email kenneth.williams@yale.edu. Additionally, we would greatly appreciate any thoughts or comments on the TECAN Uno shelf-life expectancy for their various cassettes.
Note: For the same cell line grown under the same growth conditions, we have been successful in dispensing single cells using the BD FACSAria Flow Cytometer.
