Our core facility staffing structure at Montana State University consists of a facility manager + required support staff (0.5-1.0 FTE, day-to-day duties, training users, etc.) and then a faculty director who receives a stipend for strategic guidance of the facility and helping with grant writing to support the core. I am curious for those who have a similar structure, do you have a outline of duties for the faculty director? We have historically not had them sign any sort of MOU or job description, but would like to put something into place because we are dealing with a wide range of faculty involvement across our 11 facilities and believe they could benefit from a more clear outline of duties.
