Announcing 2025 MAD SSCi Meeting

Planning has begun for MAD SSCi 2025! Save the Date to join us in historic Richmond, Virginia as Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) hosts the 2025 MAD SSCi meeting September 15-17, 2025! Registration for the 2025 conference will open soon. The theme of this year's meeting will be "Cores: Creating Opportunities". With a focus on the opportunities Cores create both within their institutions and in their broader communities, this meeting is sure to inspire as well as educate all who attend.
The meeting will be held at the Hilton Richmond Hotel and Spa. Meeting activities will include an opening reception, a Keynote lecture, plenary lectures, scientific topic sessions, core administrative sessions, round table discussions, vendor talks, an exhibit hall, and lots of networking opportunities.
Our pre-meeting workshop will be:
- Business Skills Workshop - Core facilities provide instrumentation and services to a wide range of investigators and institutions. This seemingly straight forward fee-for-service model used in most cores is in reality a sophisticated integration of science and business. Core facilities are born out of scientific need but they are also driven by compliance and uniform guidance set forth by the federal government. Even though these two entities work in tandem, there often is a gap in understanding the relationship between science and business by the scientists and administrators of core facilities.
